In many beliefs, religion, and cultures in the world, a soul is of often defined as the spiritual or immaterial part of being a human being. It's a separable part of our humanity from our physical body.
An article posted on Divine Divination Blog states that the soul belief dates back to the ancient Greeks in the western world. Mummification of Egyptian Kings also suggest their belief in souls.
