Quite ironically, South Africa refused the Dalai Lama to attend a peace conference to be held at Johannesburg this week, according to a statement from the presidential spokeman.
According to Thabo Masebe, it is not in South Africa's best interests to allow the Tibetan leaders entry because it will shift away attention from the 2010 World Cup to be hosted by South Africa to Tibet and China.
